Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl by Lysa Terkeurst

Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl by Lysa TerKeurst

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There are books that you like and recommend. Then there are those books that you wonder how they even got published. And then there are books like this one that stay with you and you rave to all your friends about it.

Lysa has written a book that will cling to you for days...even weeks...after you have read it, and then browsed the "notes" section because it was that good!

When the book arrived in my mailbox I flipped through the pages in search of the lists telling me what t-do and what not-to-do in my journey of Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl. But it didn't have any lists or nicely bullet-ed points.

Instead this book was like grabbing a steamy cup of something yummy to drink and sitting down for a heart-to-heart talk with my best friend. I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more. I cried again. And I rejoiced!

I rejoiced because Lysa knows how I feel. She knows what it's been like to try and be that good Bible study girl and never seem to arrive. She knows what it's like to do the daily devotional duty and long for something more. And she knows what it's like to desire perfection in life and always be filled with frustration that it's just not happening.

Lysa's book won't tell you what to-do or what not-to-do in the right order at the right time to reach the goal you are desiring so desperately. No, it won't do that. But it will encourage you, refresh you, and excite you as you smell, taste, and hear of hope and real life.

It may be letting go of your expectations or replacing your doubt-filled thoughts with truth. Whatever it is for you, Lysa is your friend, in cream pages in black ink, that will walk you hand-in-hand on this journey to Becoming More Than Just A Good Bible Study Girl.

Oh! And Lysa, if you are reading this...I'm sorry about the cookie crumbs, coffee stains, and tear splatters on the pages...but I had so much fun with you! Thank you for your ministry.

I received this book unexpectedly from Zondervan and what a blessing it was to me!
