RADICAL by David Platt Review

What exactly are you supposed to say about a book that invokes a tearful examination of one’s own motives and perspectives?  About a book that flies in the face of the tenet’s that the culture in which you live adheres to with unwavering commitment?  A book that takes the dark blinds off your eyes and sears them with the blinding light of the possibilities that a life truly following Jesus would bring.
Amazing?  Inspired? Thought-provoking?  Culture-impacting?  Worth reading?  ABSOLUTELY.
In his book, RADICAL Taking Back Your Faith From the American Dream, David Platt considers what the gospel really says about how we live our lives—especially here in our pleasure ridden, pleasure driven America.
Are we reaching out?
Is our gospel really the one the Bible taught?
Are we living in such a way that says “God, use me?”
Are we willing to give up our cars, our homes, our friends, our safety, our children, our spouses, our church buildings for the sake of the gospel?
These are just some of the poignant questions asked by David Platt.  At the very least this book is a MUST-READ.  I am still trying to figure out all the people I want to give a copy to and also how what I have read will impact my life.  If you read one book this year, read the BIBLE—it will change your life.  If you read two, read the BIBLE and RADICAL.

I was provided with a copy of this book by WaterBrook Multnomah for review.  Thank you very much!
